💫 About Melissa

Cats have always been my people. Ever since Homeward Bound emotionally wrecked me as a child (millennials, you get it), I knew animals were my whole life path. I started volunteering at my local shelter in high school, bottle-feeding kittens, cleaning cat condos, and basically living my teenage dream—while also being the awkward kid who preferred meowing at cats to talking to other humans.

That one step turned into a now nearly fifteen-year animal welfare career. During the pandemic, I became the Humane Advocacy Manager in East Oakland, where I oversaw low-barrier community programs like the Pet Food Pantry, Veterinary Assistance, Emergency Boarding, and Spay/Neuter support. I provided case management and social-work-style guidance for pet guardians navigating really tough situations, helped people access care for their animals (and sometimes themselves), mentored shelter pros across the country, and built partnerships with veterinary clinics to expand access to care. And because “cats everywhere” is my personal slice of perfection pie, I also have spent four years working directly in veterinary medicine—general practice, emergency, and specialty surgery services—learning the heart, science, and beautifully weird realities of helping animals heal.

Basically, I turned “my special interest is cats” into an actual career… which is probably the least surprising thing about me.

I adopted my soul cat, Luna, in 2012, and she was my North Star—my comfort, my mirror, my familiar, my “yes I talk to my cat like she pays rent” best friend. When she passed on 12/31/22, everything in our home felt wrong, even with Bob and Taylor still there. We adopted Maggie hoping to bring some warmth back in, but instead we got full-blown feline chaos: Bob pooping outside the box, bullying, stressing us all out to the max, hissing—basically everyday was a new episode of Jersey Shore, and I was the exhausted producer holding a boom mic wondering how my life choices led me here. I was grieving Luna, drowning in intercat drama, and genuinely wondering if peace was ever coming back.

We tried everything—supplements, behavior advice, medication—and still nothing shifted. The air felt heavy. I didn’t know if I could survive another day of emotional cat wrestling. Everyone was tense. I just wanted to breathe again.

And then something unexpected cracked everything open: Soul Level Animal Communication and Energy Healing. When I started tuning in to Bob’s soul, listening past the behaviors into what she actually needed, our whole household softened. Maggie ventured out more. Bob relaxed. Then came chase-play, then nose boops, then full-on “hey sis” energy. It felt like watching tiny threads of magic stitch our family back together—slowly, gently, but undeniably.

Learning how to support Bob at the soul level also taught me how to stay connected with Luna in the spirit world. My grief shifted from sharp and unbearable to something I could hold, process, and even learn from. Energy work became the only language that finally made everything make sense… in that beautifully woo-woo, “okay universe, I see you,” kind of way.

Nowadays, I check in with Bob energetically all the time—feeling into her emotions, the vibe of the home, and what each of us needs to stay balanced. Every time something shifts with just a little soul-level attention, I’m still like, ohhhh so we’re doing tiny miracles today? cute.

In today’s crazy world I use animal communication, tarot, and energy work to help other big-hearted, cat-obsessed humans find the peace, clarity, and laughter they’ve been craving with their pets. I blend intuition, compassion, and a healthy dose of goofery to relay your cat’s messages in ways that actually feel good—grounded, joyful, validating, and full of “okay wait… that explains EVERYTHING” moments.

And here’s what I deeply believe:
Animals aren’t “bad.” Not ever. They’re tiny, furry professors delivering life lessons in the most chaotic, adorable, emotionally disruptive ways possible. They’re mirrors, guides, comedians, boundary-testers, love-bombs, and little spiritual advisors who sometimes express their wisdom through… y’know… peeing on your favorite vintage concert hoodie.
They teach us about trust, communication, our own healing, and where our energy is out of whack.
I’m just here to translate their cosmic comedy into human words.

I’m an extroverted, millennial, neurodivergent cat lady who believes laughter is part of the magic. My work is part soulful heart-to-heart, part comedy special, and 100% guided by your cat’s higher self—with joy, insight, awkward turtle energy, and a sprinkle of cosmic mischief.

If you vibe with open-hearted conversations, silly energy, and a little bit of magic, you’re officially in the right place.
